Petrofac has announced a year-long contract extension to provide engineering services on Chevron’s key North Sea assets.
The UK oil field service firm has held the agreement since 2014. The extension commenced on September 30.
Installations covered by the contract include the Alba Northern, Erskine, and Captain platforms, as well as the Alba floating storage unit and Captain floating, production, storage and offloading vessel.
Chevron confirmed in July that it had put those assets up for sale, along with the rest of its central North Sea portfolio up for sale.
Petrofac also provides Operations, Maintenance and Construction personnel across five of Chevron’s North Sea assets.
Craig McCartney, projects director at Petrofac, said: “We’re very pleased that Chevron has chosen to extend our contract, which has focused on the implementation of scalable engineering services.”
