Glacier Energy Services has appointed a new director as it aims for new growth in the North Sea market.
The firm, which has a base in Aberdeen, has hired Matt Pybus as its director for non-destructive testing and inspection services.
Mr Pybus, with 20 years of experience in the sector, will lead the company’s inspection services in the North Sea and further afield as it seeks to grow across the oil and gas and renewables sectors.
He brings experience working for a range of firms, including Oceaneering and Cape Plc where he was based in Aberdeen.
Mr Pybus said: “Glacier is an exciting company with a growing footprint and a lot to offer a variety of sectors; I am delighted to join Glacier and look forward to working with the team.
“My diverse experience in marine and offshore will be put to good use in supporting and developing our growth strategy moving forward.”
Earlier this year Glacier acquired fellow North Sea firm Aberdeen Radiators in a move described as a vote of confidence in the sector.
It was the latest in a series of takeovers for Glacier, having acquired another heat exchanger repair firm Ross Offshore in 2013.
Glacier’s managing director Duncan McDougall added: “We are thrilled to have Matt on board. NDT & Inspection is an integral part of our business and we have an excellent reputation for delivering quality and highly-skilled work to the market.
“Matt is a great addition to our management team and will drive our growth in the UK and internationally.”
