North-east energy services firm Texo Group has clinched a contract worth at least £1 million to upgrade a jack-up rig.
Texo, headquartered in Westhill, near Aberdeen, will assign 60 staff members to carry out the work on the Ensco 100 at the Port of Dundee.
The project will take about 12 weeks to complete.
It is the first contract win for Texo’s mobile offshore drilling unit business unit.
Texo engineering director Garry Kennie said: “This is a fabulous project to showcase Texo Group’s integrated asset service.
“We will have a number of our business units involved in this prestigious project including our engineering, fabrication, marine, integrity and accommodation teams.”
Steve Shay, business unit asset manager at Ensco, said: “We were impressed by Texo’s approach in this tender.
“Their full-services offering was attractive for us and represented good value for our specific requirements.”
