A north-east oilfield service firm has secured a five-year contract extension with BP, creating two new jobs in the process.
Sulzer Wood, based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, will provide pump maintenance services on the Glen Lyon, Clair and Clair Ridge assets.
The two companies have been in partnership for 15 years already.
Sulzer Wood, a joint venture established by Sulzer Pumps UK and Aberdeen-headquartered Wood, currently employs 80 people in Ellon.
The joint venture specializes in critical pump maintenance and provision of bespoke rotating equipment solutions for production-critical equipment in the North Sea.
The firm will hire a customer support engineer and a technical advisor to help fulfill the contract with BP.
New faces will also be added to its service engineer team.
Sulzer Wood general manager Murray Wilson said: “We are delighted to be awarded this challenging contract, and we look forward to working in close partnership with the BP rotating equipment team to deliver pump reliability improvements and extended maintenance intervals.”
