An industrial ballot opens today for dozens of Petrofac workers on BP platforms in the North Sea.
Petrofac contractors are seeking a change to their current three weeks on, three weeks off (3:3) working patterns or an addition of paid holidays.
The Unite union, which is holding the vote, said the issue is long-standing for workers, while Petrofac is seeking a resolution “as quickly as possible”.
Last year offshore workers for Total took part in strike action over 3:3 rotas, with several operators deciding to change their working patterns amid concerns around its impact on mental health.
Separately to Petrofac, BP workers operate a 3:4, 3:5 rotation.
The vote will close on Wednesday 20th March.
