A series of oil and gas operators have been lined up for a major southern North Sea (SNS) supply chain event.
Premier Oil and Dana Petroleum, joint partners at the Tolmount Gas field, will be among the eight operators at the SNS Meet the Buyer event on March 5.
The Oil and Gas Authority’s (OGA) area manager for the SNS Eric Marston will join representatives of Premier and Dana as speakers at the event at Norwich City football club.
It follows last year’s event which organisers the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) said brought announcements of £3bn worth of projects for the region.
OGA supply chain manager Bill Cattanach said the SNS is now a “more upbeat market”.
“We will be seeing higher activity levels in general. There have been a couple of projects approved in the SNS and we would expect a couple more this year,” he said.
“The figures last year were for the whole of the basin and this time we will be more focused on the SNS and what the real opportunities are for the local supply chain.”
The Environment Agency will also be discussing the importance of safe decommissioning of North Sea assets for the supply chain.
Simon Gray, chief executive of the EEEGR, said: “This will be only the second occasion when we will have had the majority of the southern North Sea operators in the same room together.
“It’s great to see the growing levels of co-operation and desire of the operators to work with the supply chain and ensure the continuation of the key role the southern North Sea plays for UKPLC in terms of keeping our country lit and warm.”
