Transocean’s 712 semi-submersible drilling rig has arrived at Invergordon for refurbishment ahead of a fresh North Sea drilling campaign.
The rig has been contracted for a 13-well contract with ConocoPhillips, scheduled to begin later this month.
Ahead of that, Transocean 712 has arrived in Invergordon for refurbishment at Semco Martitme’s Queen’s Dock facility.
During the “short stay” the rig will undertake maintenance work and inspection.
Last year Transocean announced the rig had won a 13-well contract lasting approximately 580 days with ConocoPhillips in the UK North Sea, due to start in March 2019.
Simon Wall, vice president of global sales at Semco Maritime Rig Projects: “Semco Maritime welcomes the Transocean 712 rig into our Queens Dock facility in Invergordon for a short stay while the rig is between contracts.
“The rig will carry out some inspection and minor maintenance scopes while here, and shall depart in around 4 weeks.”
