Prosafe has been awarded a contract extension at Equinor’s Mariner project amid another setback to first oil from the project.
Equinor announced yesterday that production has been pushed back yet again from the development east of Shetland due to glitches with electrical equipment.
The firm has exercised three one-month extension options for the Safe Boreas vessel at the site, worth £11.4m.
It will accommodate workers through to September of this year amid the hook up and early production phase.
The first oil date has been pushed back from Q4 of 2018 to the first half of 2019, and this new delay means it could be July, however Equinor said there is still “some uncertainty” around the date.
