North Sea steel wire rope supplier Hendrik Veder Group has announced it will create a number of new jobs as part of the firm’s expansion into new Aberdeen premise.
The Rotterdam-headquartered supply chain company confirmed last night it plans to make a seven-figure investment as part of its UK North Sea growth plan.
The initial stages of the investment will see the creation of 20 jobs as the firm moves to a new Bridge of Don facility.
Hendrik Veder Group steel wire and fibre rope products, lifting and inspection services and asset management provision.
The firm said new investment was thanks to “exponential” growth in contracts and staff numbers over the last year.
Findlay Moir, Hendrik Veder Group UK managing director, said: “Since early 2018, we have gone to considerable lengths to ensure our long-term commitment to North Sea, as we continue to focus upon a strengthened supply chain capability.”
The firm said last night it planned to “increase its manufacturing capabilities” with a move from Aberdeen city centre to new premises at Woodside Road, Bridge of Don.
International development director, Harry MacLean, described the fresh investment by the firm’s shareholders as “very welcome ahead of Brexit”.
He added: “This investment is testament to the confidence they have in our UK-based teams, and has resulted in the ability to synergise our UK provision with that of the wider group.”
