A new conference has been announced which will focus on the most pressing health and safety issues in the North Sea.
The event, from Oil and Gas UK (OGUK), will look at control of major accident hazards, prevention of oil and gas releases, reducing emissions and workforce mental health.
It is hoped the one-day conference will draw more than 400 people when it takes place on November 6 at the new P&J Live exhibition centre.
Keynote speakers include Martin Temple, chairman of the Health and Safety Executive, Ray Riddoch, UK managing director of CNOOC International and Gretchen Haskins, chief executive of HeliOffshore.
The opening address will be given by OGUK CEO Deirdre Michie, focusing on how far the industry has come in managing major hazards while highlighting ongonig efforts to secure a “safe and sustainable future”.

Speakers also include Trevor Stapleton, health and safety manager at OGUK, Louise O’Hara Murray, environment manager at OGUK, Steve Rae, executive director of Step Change in Safety, Wendy Kennedy, CEO of OPRED, Janice Milne, head of national operations at SEPA, and Chris Flint, energy director at HSE.
