Aker Solutions has warned contractors in Norway of potential job losses amid fears work will slow down due to the coronavirus spread.
News website Sysla said the notice had been sent to 6,000 workers in Norway.
A spokeswoman for Aker said the company was following a legal requirement to notify temp workers in advance of any “potential” redundancies.
The spokeswoman added that the warning did not mean that anyone was definitely going to be laid off.
Similar action has not been taken in Aberdeen, she said.
