Oil and gas services company Tetra Technologies UK is moving into a newly refurbished office and workshop building on Endeavour Drive at Westhill, near Aberdeen.
Property firm FG Burnett said yesterday it had secured the lease on behalf of private client Beechleigh Property Holdings.
The building, which extends to more than 20,000sq ft, comprises a mix of open plan and cellular office space, as well as a workshop with overhead cranes and external laydown space.
FG Burnett not only acted as letting agent but the company’s building surveying team also handled the refurbishment of the building, for which Chap Group was the main contractor.
Iona Foubister, senior building surveyor, FG Burnett, who acted as contract administrator, said: “The refurbishment worth in excess of £300,000 was a package of various internal and external works, including cladding, resurfacing, flooring, decoration and M&E (mechanical and engineering).
“We worked to a tight timescale over winter and in conjunction with both our client and the ingoing tenant to achieve a fully refurbished building for them taking occupation in April.”
FG Burnett director Graeme Watt negotiated the letting on behalf of Beechleigh.
Mr Watt said the letting showed the north-east industrial property market was “beginning to emerge from the doldrums of earlier years” before the coronavirus pandemic escalated.
He added: “It goes without saying that Covid-19 has had a profound effect on short-term market confidence and conditions.
“But, hopefully, when it has been collectively defeated conditions will once again improve.”
The Aberdeen office of global property giant Knight Frank acted for US-owned Tetra Technologies UK.
Scott Hogan, head of industrial agency, Knight Frank, said: “This letting proves that occupiers remain in the market for best-in-class industrial accommodation.”
