An Aberdeenshire company is planning to more than double its headcount after a trio of contract wins worth £1.75m.
Orca Oceanic Systems, based in Portlethen, plans to increase its local team from eight to more than 20 in the coming months, despite the oil price drop and covid-19 pandemic.
The equipment servicing and dive systems company also has a small presence in Singapore.
The names of the clients have not been disclosed.
Managing director Mike Masson described it as a huge achievement for his team amid tough market conditions.
He said: ““It is a monumental achievement by the OOS team during these exceptionally difficult trading conditions to secure three highly significant contracts.
“The contracts will be carried out by OOS’s operations support project team in Aberdeen, our dedicated dive service centre and our mobilisation team.
“OOS have now exceeded our turnover and revenue targets for the whole of 2020 in Q1 and are on track to more than double our forecasted turnover for 2020, with more to come thanks to a dedicated team of industry veterans and highly skilled individuals.”
