A Shetland hotel has been extensively damaged by a major blaze.
The fire broke out around 12.30am at the Moorfield Hotel in Brae.
Crews from Brae, Hillswick and Scalloway were first on the scene after reports that the 100-bedroom hotel was “well alight”.
A large number of the hotel’s rooms were routinely held for the local Shetland Gas Plant, which belongs to French oil and gas giant Total.
The hotel was due to close in September after Total chose not to extend a seven-year accommodation contract.
