Jersey Oil and Gas has announced the appointment of Les Thomas to its board as an independent non-executive director.
Mr Thomas, who takes up the position with immediate effect, has more than 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry in various subsurface, engineering, operational and senior management positions.
Between 2013 and 2020 he was CEO of Ithaca Energy and previously served for eight year on the board of John Wood Group as chief executive of its production facilities business and the group director responsible for HSE.
Prior to that, Mr Thomas spent 22 years with Marathon Oil in several locations and roles, including four years as European business unit leader.
He is also an independent director of Repsol Sinopec, a joint venture between Repsol and Sinopec with a significant footprint in the UK North Sea, as well as serving as a Non-Executive Director of Avingtrans.
