Maersk Drilling has been awarded a contract extension with Equinor at the Martin Linge field worth around $10.5million.
The Norwegian energy giant has exercised an option to add additional well intervention work using the low-emission Maersk Intrepid rig.
The work is expected to last 31 days, meaning the Intrepid is now contracted until February 2022.
Equinor and Maersk Drilling agreed the Martin Linge extension as part of their Master Framework Agreement where both parties have committed to collaborating on tech advancements and other initiatives to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
The contract includes a performance bonus for reducing CO2 and NOx emissions.
Last week Equinor announced that Martin Linge, 26miles west of Oseberg, had been brought on stream.
