Aker BP ASA has been granted a drilling permit for a well in the Norwegian Sea.
The 6507/6-8 well, which lies about 140 miles west of Brønnøysund, will be drilled by the Deepsea Stavanger facility.
Aker BP has operatorship of the well, controlling 30 percent, while Statoil also has 30 percent, along with DEA Norge AS (25 percent) and PGNiG Upstream Norway (15 per cent).
The well will be drilled about a mile west of Aker BP’s Skarv field.
