Equinor has handed out a £62.5m insulation, scaffolding and surface treatment (ISO) contract to Kaefer Energy.
The Norwegian firm will handle the work for operations and maintenance for the field, as well as on phase two of the huge development.
Equinor said ISO will play a crucial role in ensuring Johan Sverdrup continues to produce for decades to come.
The field, 100miles west of Stavanger, has estimated resources of up to 3.1billion barrels of oil equivalent.
Equinor announced approval of the phase two expansion last week.
