Workers are looking to fix a leak at a site where an oil well was being dug in northern Kuwait.
According to state news agency KUNA, a spokesman for the KOC (Kuwait Oil Company) was reported as saying there was no gas leak during the incident.
Specialised teams are said to be making assessments.
In a later statement, the spokesman said the spill had not affected KOC’s operations and production processes in Kuwait, a major oil producer and OPEC member.
