The head of European oil trading at Shell is to leave the company later this year, according to sources.
According to reports, Bloomberg was the first news service to report the departure of Stany Schrans.
A spokesman for Shell declined to comment on the move.
Sources have claimed the move was down to personal reasons.
The oil major has one of the biggest oil trading desks in the world and is one of the most powerful players in the benchmark Brent market.
Tarek al Hassan, a senior trader based in Singapore, is relocating to London to replace him.
