Theresa May has put the finishing touch to her new Government with the appointment of Jesse Norman as a business minister.
May becoming Prime Minister last Wednesday.
Known in Parliament as a modernising Tory, Mr Norman, 54, was educated at Eton and Oxford University and worked as a banker before entering Parliament as MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire in 2010.
His books, Compassionate Conservatism (2006) and The Big Society (2010), were seen as setting out some of the ideas underpinning David Cameron’s political approach, but the former PM never appointed him to ministerial office and was reported to have rowed with him over House of Lords reform.
