ConocoPhillips has said its plans to leave its current Houston headquarters would not result in a departure from the Energy Corridor district.
A ConocoPhillips spokesman said the company would move to a new base less than a quarter of a mile away from the existing HQ at 600 North Dairy Ashford.
The new facility is called Energy Centre 4 and is adjacent to another building which houses employees from ConocoPhillips’ Lower 48 business unit.
The two buildings are bridge linked.
Earlier this week, ConocoPhillips chairman and chief executive Ryan Lance informed employees of the decision to switch bases.
Mr Lance said: “After a careful review, we plan to relocate our Houston headquarters to Energy Center 4.
“I’m excited about the prospect of having all our Houston-based employees near each other and in modern, cost-effective buildings.
“Relocation is expected to begin in mid-2018 following the interior build out at EC4.
“This decision only impacts our Houston-area workforce, but it’s part of our collective efforts to build a new future.”
The spokesman said ConocoPhillips was assessing options for its existing headquarters campus.
