National Grid has awarded Glacier Energy Services a deal for the supply of heat exchangers and supporting services.
The energy infrastructure firm, which has a base in Aberdeen, said it would support work on above-ground installations along 6,800 kilometres of high pressure gas transmission pipeline.
Glacier did not disclose the value of the contract, which is for an initial three years.
Manging director Martin Kilmurry said: “This is great news for the team who have worked hard over the last year to understand the key drivers in other market sectors and ensure our technical and commercial offering drives the best value solutions for our customers.
“Our commitment to transparency, partnership, and service excellence will continue to lead our drive for new growth opportunities.”
Glacier was formed around the buyout of two divisions of MB Aerospace, pipeline machining company Roberts and welding service specialist Wellclad, in March 2011.
