One person has been seriously hurt and two more injured after a helicopter from Shetland crashed off the Norwegian coast.
The small privately owned helicopter was seen refueling at Shetland’s Sumburgh airport early yesterday.
The aircraft reportedly crashed into the sea while attempting to board a luxury yacht outside the Norwegian city of Bergen.
Three people were rushed to hospital after emergency services were called to the scene at about 9.30pm local time.
One of those on board the Eurocopter AS350 was reported to be seriously injured.
The two other men, aged 62 and 53-years-old respectively, escaped with minor injuries.
The Norwegian authorities have launched an investigation into what caused the accident.
The chopper arrived at Sumburgh from Kirkwall earlier on Wednesday, and can be traced back to the Buckinghamshire town of High Wycombe.
