The North Sea was hit by an earthquake of 4.8 magnitude this afternoon.
The earthquake struck at 2.33pm between Scotland and Norway, and was felt in Shetland and Orkney.
The @ShetlandWild twitter account said: “We certainly felt this.”
A 3.8 magnitude earthquake hit the North Sea in January last year off the coast of Yorkshire.
