A range of Aberdeen businesses have been shortlisted for services to the environment.
Five out of the 28 Scottish firms chosen as finalists for the 2017 VIBES – Scottish Environment Business Awards – are from the Granite City and surrounding area.
Sub-sea firm EC-OG, engineering consultancies Ingen Ideas Ltd and Performance Improvements (PI) Ltd, FIS Chemicals Ltd, consultancy TWMA and steel pipe company John Lawrie have all been shortlisted.
The 18th annual environmental award scheme which recognises and rewards the commitment, actions and achievements of Scottish companies working hard to reduce their impact on the environment.
The 38 finalists have been selected across nine individual award categories.
EC-OG sub-sea energy provider has been shortlisted in the Innovation category and has been selected for its ocean energy conversion system.
Ingen Ideas Ltd and Performance Improvements (PI) Ltd have been shortlisted in the Green Team category.
FIS Chemicals Ltd, which manufactures and supplies cleaning and maintenance chemicals, has been shortlisted for the Management SME category.
TWMA, shortlisted for the Environmental Product or Service category, provides specialist drilling waste and environmental solutions to the oil and gas industry.
John Lawrie (Aberdeen) Limited, which receives and processes redundant tubulars (steel pipes) from the offshore oil & gas industry, has been shortlisted for the Circular Economy category.

“Over the 18 years since the first VIBES ceremony, we have seen entries from businesses of all sizes and sectors, highlighting the range of businesses supporting Scotland’s sustainable development. We look forward to celebrating with many of these businesses and our new finalists at this year’s awards.”
The VIBES – Scottish Environment Business Awards will take place in Edinburgh in November.
