Aberdeen company Oteac, which specialises in fire and safety products, said yesterday it had won an £800,000-plus contract for work on the city’s new exhibition and conference centre.
It will provide fire safety systems for the new venue, which is taking shape at Bucksburn.
The contract was awarded by Forth Electrical Services.
Oteac fire and security manager John Singer said: “There’s been an extensive scope of work and preparation for the project and we’re extremely proud to have finally been awarded the contract.
“We’re thrilled to be involved in delivering a part of this fantastic flagship project in the city.”
The new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre will have a capacity of 12,500 and is expected to attract more than 4.5million visitors – generating a £113million visitor spend – over the next 10 years alone. Completion is expected in 2019.
