Aberdeen-based subsea equipment specialist Ashtead Technology today announced a £1million investment in latest navigation, positioning and imaging technology.
Ashtead Technology will be offering the iXblue GAPS-NG technology for rental to subsea companies.
The technology provides precise positioning of subsea objects even in challenging environments without needing to employ transponders or umbilicals.
The iXblue is also effective in shallower waters where other systems commonly fail.
Allan Pirie, chief executive of Ashtead said: “This investment demonstrates our on-going commitment to the global offshore market, by offering the latest, highly efficient technologies to support even the most complex projects worldwide.
“We are determined to provide the most innovative solutions to the subsea market and building on our pool of iXblue equipment is as a direct result of listening to our customers’ requirements. We look forward to seeing them continue to enjoy the benefits.”
