Asda has cut its fuel prices amid a fall in wholesale costs.
The supermarket giant has reduced its fuel price caps by up to 2p per litre (ppl) for unleaded and 1ppl for diesel at its 318 filling stations.
It is the second price cut announced by Asda in the past fortnight, as it was one of three supermarkets to lower prices last week.
The price of a barrel of oil has fallen from 80 US dollars on May 23 to 73 US dollars this week.
On Monday, average UK forecourt prices stood at £1.28 per litre for unleaded and £1.32 for diesel.
This is a reduction of less than 1ppl on the previous week, when prices were at the highest level since September 2014.
Asda’s senior fuel buyer, Dave Tyrer, said: “Once again, we are leading the market in reducing fuel prices for hard-pressed families.”
