Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) has lost another key member of its top team.
Liam Smyth is now international trade director at the British Chambers of Commerce in London, having severed links with the north-east business group.
Mr Smyth joined AGCC in 2013 as membership director, having previously worked for Aberdeen Journals as an advertising manager.
His departure comes just a few months after AGCC research and policy director left to become general manager of Aberdeen-based energy services firm Katoni Engineering.
AGCC has hired PR professional Andrew McCallum, managing director of Aspect Reputation Management, to advise and support it on policy and government affairs until the end of 2018.
The chamber said Mr McCallum would work closely with chief executive Russell Borthwick and his team to “deliver in a number of priority areas”, including transport, digital connectivity, business rates, a “refreshed” regional economic strategy and a third investment tracker measuring public and private spending in the area.
Mr Borthwick said: “James and Liam have done an excellent job and we remain committed to progressing the ambitious agenda approved by our policy council and outlined in our 2018 policy plan.
“Andrew will maintain strong relationships with our regional partners to promote a joined-up approach in the delivery of our activities.”
