Oil exploration scanning group SeaBird are to buy the Hawk Explorer after leasing the vessel since 2006.

Oil exploration scanning group SeaBird are to buy the Hawk Explorer after leasing the vessel since 2006.

SeaBird are to pay $6.5million for the ship and its equipment, following the end of its lease next August.

The vessel, which is equipped for long offset 2D scanning, joined SeaBird’s fleet seven years ago after being converted from a traler to a seismic vessel.
