North Sea drilling firm Songa Offshore has appointed Jan Rune Steinsland as its new chief financial officer.
Mr Steinsland, who previously held CFO posts at Ocean Rig and Acta Holding ASA, will operate from the company’s Oslo office with immediate effect.
“Since joining Songa in April of this year, Jan Rune has contributed greatly to the strengthening of our financial control and reporting structures,” said Songa CEO Bjørnar Iversen.
“Jan Rune commands a great deal of respect in our industry and I am extremely pleased to have someone with his knowledge, experience and strength in this role.”
The appointment comes following the resignation of Geir Karlsen from the post. Mr Karlsen will remain with the company as an executive vice president until the end of the year.
