BG Group director Baroness Hogg set to be replaced by Dr John Wood, after the gas giant announced changes to its boardroom make-up.
Baroness Hogg, who is due to complete her nine-year tenure as director of the group in January 2014, will remain a non-executive director.
Her replacement has been a non-executive director at the group since 2007 and chairs the remuneration committee.
He was formerly vice chancellor at Oxford University and the University of Auckland. He has also been director of several New Zealand-based companies including global dairy giant Fonterra.
The energy firm also announced it has appointed Pam Daley and Martin Ferguson as non-executive directors to its board.
Daley is currently senior vice-president and senior adviser to the chairman at General Electric Company in the USA, while Ferguson was previously the Australian minister for resources and energy.
All board changes will take effect from 1 January 2014.
BG Group chairman Andrew Gould said both Daley and Ferguson would bring a “wealth of international expertise” that would be of great value to the company.
