Aberdeen-based energy service company Centrigues Un-Limited today announced plans to expand into the Middle East.
The firm – which specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of equipment such as water separators and mud coolers – will open a new office in Dubai later this year to boost business in the region.
Following an upturn in business in the area, the firm has hired Aberdeen-born Gordon Bisset as regional sales manager.
“The creation of our Dubai office is a key part of our overall strategy for growth because it will open up sales channels in new and different regions,” said managing director Jim Shiach.
“Gordon will be a key asset in the development of our business in the Middle East and we anticipate that his presence in the region will both underline our commitment to existing clients and sharpen our ability to forge relationships with new clients.”
Centrifuges also announced today that turnover for the year had increased by 56% to £5million from £3.2million previously, while staff numbers increased to 27 from 23.
The firm said an increasing share of its sales and rentals had come from abroad, rather than its core North Sea market, with business approaching a 50:50 split between UK and overseas work.
Centrifuges said its key markets included Norway, Egypt, Brazil and the Middle East.
“We are delighted that our figures show a healthy rise in revenues of the past year and we anticipate that the trend will continue in the current financial year,” said Mr Shiach.
