The head of Subsea UK hopes this year’s anniversary Expo will go some way to helping address the increasing skills gap threatening the oil and gas industry.
Neil Gordon, chief executive of the industry body, said the group was looking to mark the 10th anniversary event
This year’s show, rebranded Subsea Expo, is set to be the largest yet, with registrations already outstripping last year’s overall attendance at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre.
“Last year was the biggest ever but this year we’re on target to exceed 5000 visitors,” he told Energy Voice.
“Extending it to the three days, particularly for Friday, was for to do with some of the aspects of the current shortage of skills we have.
“10 years is a good time to have a look at how we’ve done – we can see how successful we’ve been as an organisation, but it also gives us a chance to look at the next 10 years to see what we need to work on.”
