North Sea subsea contractor Bibby Offshore has expanded its fleet with a new remote operated vehicle support vessel as part of a £30million investment in its operations.
The Aberdeen-based firm will mobilise the ROVSV, the EDT Jane, from April as part of a 180-day charter.
The new acquisition will continue inspection, repair and maintenance work in the North Sea for the firm’s deal with Centrica.
“The charter of the EDT Jane continues to expand our service offering to our oil and gas clients, and will continue North Sea IRM scopes previously carried out by the Toisa Warrior, a charter that ended earlier this month, as part of our ongoing Centrica project,” said chief operating officer Mike Arnold.
“This brand new vessel is a valuable addition to the fleet. The contract will involve our skilled and dedicated team providing full IRM activities, pipeline and structural inspection and light construction support, which will also be supported by the experienced onshore team.”
Bibby, which will be among the exhibitors at Subsea Expo this week, has increased its fleet to eight vessels and 15 remote vehicles, and employs more than 1300 people globally.
