An Aberdeen maritime consultancy firm has announced new contract wins worth £750,000 in January as it reported a £1million boost in annual turnover.
Maritime Assurance and Consulting (Mac) has clinched deals with a number of clients including BP, Technip, Bibby Offshore, Teekay and Premier Oil for projects in Europe, Africa, the Gulf of Mexico and Asia Pacific regions in 2014.
The contracts continue the growth of the firm, which said it has recorded a 38% rise in turnover for 2013, up £920,000 to £3.3million.
Founded in 2011, Mac provides consultancy and support services to the worldwide marine, construction, drilling and floating production industries.
Managing director Graeme Reid said: “The growth of the business has been consistently strong and very pleasing, reflecting on the dedication and the expertise of the team we have in place.
“We remain a young and energetic business but with the benefit of an excellent track record, which is building with every successful project. We have ambitious plans to continue the evolution of Mac and the early contract wins get us off on a very strong footing for 2014.
“This marks the commencement of our fourth trading year and we are positive about the potential for the future, both in our established markets and in new regions. Our key strength is the knowledge the team has and that will remain the driving force.”
Mac currently employs 24 employees and expects four additional staff members to join the business in the coming months. The firm also works with over 30 associate consultants to service growing global demand.
