Drilling contractor Songa Offshore admitted last month’s punishing North Sea weather hit its operations in the region.
The firm confirmed all three of its rigs operating in the North Sea were on limited operations during part of February as storms continued to impact on output.
The Songa Dee, Songa Delta and Songa Trym units all achieved operational efficiencies of 100%, but the Cyprus-based group admitted earnings had been hit through the weather.
“The earnings efficiencies of the three rigs operating in the North Sea were all negatively impacted by the rigs earning a Waiting-on-Weather rate due to inclement weather for extended periods of the month,” the company said.
Songa Dee, operating off Norway, suffered the worst with an earnings efficiency of 93% during the month.
