Lubbers Transport Group (LTG) has signed a contract worth £3million with Centrica Energy’s exploration & production business.
The deal will see the Aberdeen-based firm handle part of Centrica Energy’s road transport needs in the UK for its exploration and production operations, including local road work in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth, as well as servicing routes between the two.
The initial contract is for a fixed three-year period with an extension option open for two further one-year deals.
Lubbers’ chief operating officer, Tony Tailford said: “This is a significant contract for LTG as an organisation and one that underlines the strength of our position in the oil and gas logistics marketplace. We have grown significantly as a company over the past 12 months and we are now in much stronger position to service larger oil and gas businesses such as Centrica Energy.”
Last month investment firm AAC Capital took a majority £30million stake in Lubbers to back expansion of its operations.
Mr Tailford added: “Our growth over the past few years has been exceptional and we have focused our attention on tailoring this to best fit with our client base. Investing in specialist longer trailers and ensuring our QHSE (quality, health, safety and environment) standards exceed expectations has been crucial to this sustained period of success.
“We have a recognised footprint through our network of locations and routes that matches many of the leading energy companies and this contract further emphasises this point.”
