
Energy industry engineering group Premier Hytemp is to expand its manufacturing bases in Singapore and Scotland after picking up £25million in new contracts.
The Edinburgh-based firm, which was the subject of a management buyout in 2012, said it wants to recruit up to another 100 staff for its operations in Newbridge, Sheffield and Singapore.
It comes after the company picked up two deals with unnamed firms to provide wellhead component and kits – one for three years, one for a year with a further 12-month option – which could be worth £25million over the next three years.
“Within the next year we intend to increase the scale of our Scottish manufacturing base and to expand our manufacturing operation in Singapore,” said chairman Maurice McBride.
“The resulting new capacity will enhance our ability to meet the needs of a rising market and create up to 100 new jobs by 2017.
“Since November 2012, we have completed significant investment in Singapore with our fourth heat treatment furnace and second set of quench tanks, put in place new systems and procedures to deliver enhanced operational efficiency, and developed a comprehensive strategy for the future direction of the business.”
The firm recently announced industry veteran Campbell MacPherson as its new chief excutive, witj JDR Cable Systems sales director Gavin Rippe joining as chief commercial officer.
