Tampnet confirmed its fourth 4G service in now operational in the North Sea.
Located on the Thistle Platform in the North Sea, the newest base will provide coverage for the North Sea Offshore industry’s mobile rigs and vessels at a radius of up to 60km in both the British and Norwegian sectors, covering the Snorre, Statfjord, Valemon, Gullfaks, Brent, Dunlin, Murchison, Magnus, Ninian, Eider, Cormorant Alpha, Tern and Western Isles fields.
Per Helge Svensson, managing director of Tampnet, said: “The new service will change the nature of how mobile rigs and vessels communicate in the field.
“Furthermore, it will have significant spin-offs in terms of safety and crew welfare.”
