An injured oil worker was flown to hospital from a Shetland platform after falling in a stairwell.
The Shetland Coastguard said a helicopter was dispatched last night to the North Cormorant platform and the man was taken by helicopter at around 9.50pm.
A spokesman for the Coastguard said he was taken to the emergency landing site and then moved to the Gilbert Bain Hospital.
The 58-year-old crewman, who was a contract worker for ESS, was flown to Lerwick Hospital by helicopter from the TAQA-operated platform.
He is understood to be in a stable condition.
A TAQA spokeswoman said:“As a precaution one of our people on board TAQA’s North Cormorant platform was taken to hospital last night after slipping and falling on the stairwell inside the accommodation block.”
The North Comerent oilfield sits 100 miles north-east of Lerwick.
