Statoil’s nomination committee has recommended a new member to be elected to its board.
The company has put forward Wenche Agerup after Catherine Hughes withdrew from the board in April this year.
A supplementary election to the board is now expected to be held in the corporate assembly meeting on August 20.
Agerup was previously the executive vice president for corporate staffs and the general counsel of Norsk Hydro from 2010 until December 2014.
She has held various executive roles in Hydro since 1997 including within the company’s M&A activities.
Agerup is also currently a board member in Oslo Børs Holding VPS ASA/Oslo Børs ASA (the Oslo Stock Exchange) and the seismic company TGS, and has competence and experience within corporate governance.
