A group of Aberdeen pupils have learned about the wide range of career opportunities in the oil and gas industry following a visit to EnQuest’s city centre offices.
The 30 primary seven pupils from Tullos Primary School gained an insight into careers and experiences during their time with staff from across EnQuest’s business: from reception, security, human resources and communications to IT, engineering and geology.
The careers day was organised by EnQuest as part of the company’s long-standing partnership with Tullos Primary School as well as its ongoing commitment to encouraging youngsters to consider a career in oil and gas.
This year, the focus with Tullos Primary is on creating educational and hands-on experiences that will help to inspire the pupils to work towards oil and gas related careers.
EnQuest president Neil McCulloch, said: “I hope that our latest collaboration with Tullos Primary has helped to spark interest and aspirations.
“Each of us has a duty to inspire our young people to join the energy sector and to help them get as much experience as possible and to nurture the next generation of leaders.
Beth Leitch, acting head teacher at Tullos Primary, said: “The careers day has given our children an excellent insight into the opportunities that are available to them in the oil and gas sector.
“We hope that experiences like this will open up the world of work to our pupils and give them an idea of what type of career they can aspire to in the future.”
