BW Offshore said six people are now confirmed to have died following an explosion onboard an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading ) unit in Brazil.
Three crew members are still missing following the incident one week ago with search and rescue operations continuing.
Another five personnel are continuing to receive medical attention in hospital, the company said.
Production has been stopped and the unit, which had 74 people onboard at the time, has been shut down.
The chief executive of BW Offshore, Carl Arnet, has met with families of the deceased and also with the families of the missing.
A spokesman said the bodies of the four Brazilian crew members and one Indian crew member have since been released to their families.
The Brazilian crew member found onboard the unit yesterday is being transported to shore and will be released to his family as soon as possible.
The incident happened on Wednesday, February 11 on the Cidade de Sao Mateus.
The unit is being operated for Petrobas by BW Offshore on the Camarupim and Camarupim Norte fields in Espirito Santo littoral approximately 120km from the coast.
