An oil worker has been airlifted to hospital after an accident on a North Sea oil rig.
The Coastguard 951 helicopter was called to the Prospector 1 rig, 150 miles east of Aberdeen around 6.55am today.
The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) with a potentially life threatening injury after an accident on the rig yesterday.
A spokeswoman for the Coastguard said the man had sustained a chest injury, believed to have been caused by a fall.
She added: “We were called to the Prospector 1 platform at around 6.55am this morning.
“The mans condition deteriorated overnight after an accident yesterday on the oil rig and as a result the Coastguard were called to take the man to ARI this morning.”
