Exxon Mobil is contributing $100,000 toward American Red Cross disaster relief assistance for communities impacted by recent severe storms and flooding in Houston.
More than 11,000 of its employees live and work in the Greater Houston area.
Chief executive Rex Tillerson said: “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to residents who have been affected by the recent storms and flooding,”
“We hope that our assistance will help provide relief to our neighbors and friends in the Houston area during this challenging time.”
ExxonMobil’s contribution is being directed to the Greater Houston chapter of the Red Cross.
Company employees are also volunteering with relief efforts as part of the Red Cross Ready When the Time Comes program.
The Red Cross is currently providing shelter, meals, relief supplies and comfort to impacted residents.
