SBM Offshore has snapped up oil major Shell’s current chief financial officer for a new role with the company.
Douglas Wood, who most recently held the position at Showa Shell Sekiyu, is expected to be proposed as a replacement for Peter Van Rossum.
It comes after SBM announced earlier this year that Van Rossum would retire after the annual general meeting in 2017.
Earlier this week, Wood was nominated for the position.
His appointment is expected to be deliberated at a meeting on November 30th.
SBM chief executive Bruno Chabas said: “We are pleased to welcome Douglas to our team. His wealth of experience in finance and the energy industry will be a valuable addition to SBM Offshore.”
