AFC Energy has named its new chief operating officer.
Jim Gibson has been appointed to AFC Energy’s board of directors as chief operating officer of the company with immediate effect.
CEO Adam Bond said: “On behalf of all the directors and executives, we would like to welcome Jim to the Board. Jim’s credentials, experience and capability have supported the Company over the past few months and have been a strong catalyst for some of the commercial and technical initiatives currently under development at AFC Energy.
“His direct experience in the chemical and industrial sectors drive an increased focus and relevance of AFC Energy’s leading alkaline technology and fuel cell systems to that expected from our commercial, strategic and project partners. We are delighted to add Jim to our board and executive team.”
Mr Gibson has 30 years’ experience in operations management and business development roles for the engineering contracting sector and particularly within the APAC region. Jim spent 23 years at Foster Wheeler working in operational roles.
He added: “It is a pleasure to be joining AFC Energy at this extremely exciting time in the Company’s evolution to a fully commercial and world leading fuel cell company. Having followed the Company for the past couple of years, I have been most impressed at the strides forward it has achieved and the calibre of partners we are currently engaged with.
