Engineering company Nucore Group has beefed up its management team with the appointment of Phil Davie as chief operating officer (COO).
Mr Davie boasts more than 30 years’ experience in the energy service sector, most recently as senior vice president at Aker Solutions.
The COO position was created as part of the recent restructuring at Nucore, headquartered in Aberdeen.
In December, its two wholly-owned trading subsidiaries, Oteac and HVAC and Refrigeration Engineering, were merged under the Nucore brand as part of an “alignment exercise”.
Nucore chief executive Mark Fraser said: “We are delighted to have brought someone of Phil’s calibre on board, and believe his track record in the energy sector will be an enormous asset to the company.
“Having come through 2020 strongly, Nucore Group is now executing ambitious growth and diversification plans, both within local and overseas markets, and we see Phil’s appointment as a critical part of this.”
Mr Davie said: “I am thrilled to join Nucore Group at this key stage in its growth, and I am looking forward to working with the highly capable operations team who are engineering, manufacturing and delivering a fantastic standard of work.
“Developing and retaining talent is a key priority for me and investment in our apprenticeship and trainee engineer programme is just one of many initiatives we have in place to ensure the business is sustainable for years to come.”
Nucore Group provides critical services and support for the oil and gas, marine, renewables energy and petrochemical industries, as well as private and public sector customers.
